It wasn't that long ago that the Bossier City community was mourning the loss of The Wooden Spoon, a local staple that left a cookie-sized hole in our hearts. Unfortunately, it seems the "bakery blues" are hitting our area once again.

In a heartbreaking announcement that has caught many regular patrons by surprise, Bakery Loré has officially shared that they will be closing their doors for good later this month.

Located right here in Bossier City, Bakery Loré has spent the last five years carving out a niche as a destination for those who appreciate the art of "from-scratch" baking. Whether you were looking for the delicate flair of a French pastry or the comforting, buttery warmth of a Southern classic, Lorena and her team managed to bridge that gap perfectly.

A Difficult Goodbye

The news came via a touching social media post where the owners expressed the weight of the decision. After half a decade of "long nights and hard work," the bakery will officially cease storefront operations on the 26th of this month.

"This Bakery has been more than a business," the announcement read. "It’s been a place where we’ve shared in your birthdays, weddings, and everyday moments. We are so grateful for the love and loyalty you’ve shown us."

The Legacy of the Tres Leches

For those who frequented the shop, the loss is significant. Bakery Loré became local-famous for their incredible Tres Leches and their ability to create stunning, detailed custom cakes that anchored some of our community's biggest celebrations. In an era of mass-produced sweets, their commitment to handmade quality was a breath of fresh air for Bossier foodies.

The Silver Lining

While the storefront is closing, the talent isn't going away entirely. In her announcement, Lorena noted that she will continue to create those famous custom cakes from home. So, while we may lose the ability to walk in and grab a pastry on a whim, the "heart" of the bakery's custom work will live on.

One Final Visit

Between now and April 26th, we encourage everyone to stop by, say thank you to the staff, and grab your favorites one last time. Let’s make sure their final weeks are filled with the same local support they’ve given us for the last five years.

Once again, thank you to the Bakery Loré family for making our community a little bit sweeter. You will be missed.
