A new study says that 60% of singles plan to ease back into in-person dating once things open back up the rest of the way. So, what kind of dates can you go on in Shreveport-Bossier? We polled locals to find out!

The top national answers included mini-golf, picnics, drive-in movies, and hikes. Do we even have mini-golf? Rounding out the top responses nationally were beach excursions, bike rides, planting a garden, exercising together/yoga, watching a live stream of a concert together, and even a mini road trip. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't be comfortable with several of those options. Whatever happened to meeting in a public place for safety's sake? And I'm sure as hell not jumping in a car with someone I don't know to go on a 'mini road trip.' That's just insanity as far as I'm concerned.

So, what can you do in Shreveport-Bossier while being responsible, yet still having fun? I'm thinking ax throwing is the way to go, but that may scare a few potential suitors off! In the absence of going to a movie or dancing, because that's not allowed either, here are some of Shreveport-Bossier's suggestions for romance! Clearly, some of them are meant to be funny. At least, I hope they are!

It seems like the number one response was to go to Party Central to play mini-golf, etc... Unfortunately, they still aren't open post-pandemic. We had several suggest going shooting together and fishing as well!

A suggestion I really liked came from Liz Pitman. She thinks the Wildlife Refuge would be a good location to go sit by the lake, have a picnic, and get to know each other. Stafford Long jokingly (I hope) said Netflix was his idea of a good date. I'm thinking the 'and chill' went unspoken. Another not so serious idea from Carol Womack Robertson was to go to bed!!! While we both agreed that wasn't a first date option, I guess that's one way to get to know someone...

Other ideas include:

  • Motorcycle Rides
  • Swimming
  • Going to the lake/boat ride
  • Church
  • Of course, I have to add horseback riding and ax throwing ;)

I'll be honest, it's still kind of slim pickings, but after sheltering in place for so long, I'm seriously restless... or as another friend put it, 'itchy, twitchy, and bitchy!' Happy dating! Check out more of the responses below and feel free to add your own.
