Students in Bossier Schools are back in class and that calls for a celebration.

Bossier Parish School Board District 10 Representative Samm Darby is hosting a back to school bash from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, August 10, in the activity building at Hooter Neighborhood Community Park and is inviting all students and parents to attend. Hooter Park is located at 100 Hooter Drive in Bossier City.

Bossier Schools Superintendent D.C. Machen will give an overview and answer questions about the 2013-14 school year. There will also be representatives from the Child Nutrition Department on hand to disseminate information about the district’s meal program and from the Transportation Department to discuss bus rules and safety.

Faculty and staff from Bossier High School, Kerr Elementary, T.O. Rusheon Middle School and Waller Elementary will be there, too, to meet and greet students and their parents.

Swag Nation will be at the event as well to talk about appropriate school attire and backpacks and school supplies will be given out to those that attend.

Everyone is welcome to join us as we celebrate students going back to school in Bossier Parish.
