Though Exit 33 will remain open, traffic in this area of I-20 will be reduced to only one lane.

This lane closure is necessary to allow the contractor to work on the ramp expansion at LA 157 and will last until Sunday, January 15 at 8:00 am.

Then, beginning on Monday, January 16, even after this outside right lane has reopened, the Department of Transportation and Development advises that the shoulder of this section of I-20 eastbound will be closed just west of Exit 33, Haughton/Fillmore at LA 157.

This is to allow contractors to work on the expansion of ramp at LA 157.

This shoulder closure is expected to last 40 days.

Of course, as with all DOTD projects, work will be done weather permitting and inclement weather could prolong the expected time of the work.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
