Amanda Bynog is Latest Recipient of Caught in the Act Award
A couple of words describe Amanda Bynog perfectly; Compassionate and perseverant. It's her selfless dedication to others that brings her into the spotlight this week as recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award!
And it was her little sister, Haley Burr, who obviously thinks Amanda is a caped crusader here to save us all, who wrote to us about the woman she calls an angel.
Just take a look at the nomination letter we got from Haley about sister Amanda, and you'll see exactly why Amanda was moved to tears as we read it to her.
Amanda, Where do I even begin? Angel walking the earth would be a great comparison. Amanda is the most selfless person I have ever met, she always puts others first and herself last. In 2011 Amanda's mothers best friend was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer, Amanda took it all upon herself and organized a 4k walk in the little town of Logan-sport, LA and gave all proceeds to the Gortney family. In 2014 she still felt what she did in 2011 was not enough so she organized a CO-ed softball tournament in Mansfield, LA all proceeds also went to the Gortney family. In 2017 Darla Gortney(the stage four cancer patient) lost her life after a long fight of breast cancer, Amanda still felt there was more she could do. Amanda is currently selling in remembrance car decals for the family. Long story short she is always willing to lend a helping hand no matter what.
Amanda Bynog, thank you for being an inspiration to us all and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!
And because you've been "Caught in the Act" the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse and Silver Star Grille have a $100 Gift Certificate for you to come have dinner on them!
Take a listen to the phone call we made to Amanda to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
