While the phrase "sipping tea" is currently popular with millennials through Kermit the Frog memes, we all know that sipping tea on the front porch is truly a southern thing. I will even go as far to state that it began in Louisiana. Do not quote me on that. Before the weather cools, get a pitcher of tea, gather the girls and sit out on the porch to discuss the latest happenings. Football season is quickly approaching and if you do not already have your gameday outfits ready, you are behind. As soon as you finish reading this article, I suggest you head on over to your favorite boutique and pick up something in purple and gold, black and gold or whatever color represents your team. You must look good while your are cheering on your favorite team. That is just the proper southern way. #GeauxLSU

If you have not had a cookout yet this season, what on earth are you waiting for? It is time to pull that grill out or buy a new one. Gather some of your friends for a little fun around the grill. Buy the biggest pieces of meat you can find and throw them on the grill. Heck, find some veggies and put them on their too, anything can go on the grill even dessert. #PinterestRecipes

In case you have not noticed, it is hot! I mean the kind of heat that will melt your face off. While you may have been born and raised right here in Shreveport-Bossier, admit it you are never quite ready for all that mother nature has in store every summer. When you are out racing from place to place trying not to break a sweat, pick up a snowcone or better yet a gallon of Blue Bell Ice Cream to keep you cool. Now let's all take a moment to bow our heads and thank God, that Blue Bell is back. #Amen

Whether you wanted to take a line and pole or just your cutest swimsuit, you should have spent plenty of time out on the water by now. Don't fret none (like how I used that southern phrase)! You can still pick up a cute suit and a cute boy then head out to the lake for a full day of swimming and fishing.
