Usually the kids eyes are MUCH bigger than their stomachs.  And most certainly, they'll haul in more candy tonight than you or the dentist would ever have them eat.  Course, once you've set aside that small portion YOU want and you put a little up in the freezer to save for a "rainy" day, you'll be stuck wondering just what to do with the rest.  Why not "Treat Our Troops?"  It's a great way to put all that left-over candy to good use!  A candy drive is being spearheaded at Waller Elementary at 1130 Patricia Drive in Bossier City. Individually wrapped candy and other snacks are being accepted in the lobby, as well as at Kerr Elementary and Apollo Elementary, to ship to our armed forces deployed overseas.

Candy will be collected until November 6, which is Election Day. Even though school will be out that day, candy can be dropped off because those are polling precincts. Then November 7, military members from Barksdale Air Force Base have been kind enough to volunteer to pick up candy donations.
