In August 2012, a 5 year old boy in Longview, Washington suffered a nasty bite on his leg when a pit bull named Lexi attacked him.  The dog’s owner, 40 year old Kimberly Vasquez, argued that Lexi was provoked by neighborhood kids and that the dog was afraid and not aggressive.  Nonetheless, she was ordered by a judge to turn Lexi in to be put down.
