A lot has changed since 16-year-old Lauren Alaina first entered the ‘American Idol‘ race in early 2011. Not only is she now a country music staple with a debut album and a chart-topping single, but she has since shed her small town Georgia lifestyle — and with it, 25 pounds.

Toby Keith‘s self-proclaimed “stupidest” song may become his most popular. ‘Red Solo Cup,’ a single from his just-released ‘Clancy’s Tavern‘ album, will be featured next month in an episode of the popular Fox TV hit ‘Glee,’ according to Rolling Stone.

Miranda Lambert says one song on her new album reduced her and husband Blake Shelton to tears. The couple co-wrote ‘Over You’ about the death of Shelton’s brother who was killed in a car crash in 1990. It’s the second of five songs Lambert is previewing from her new ‘Four the Record’ album.

Last week, Scotty McCreery‘s new album ‘Clear as Day’ debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts, and it doesn’t look like he’s willing to come down from atop that mountain, even for good friend Lauren Alaina. The ‘American Idol’ runner-up’s album ‘Wildflower’ sold just under 70,000 albums in its first week, enough to place second on the country album charts.

Blake Shelton‘s week is off to a good start, as the singer has claimed the No. 1 slot on Billboard’s country singles chart this week with his latest hit, ‘God Gave Me You.’

Lady Antebellum haven’t even launched the first leg of their Own the Night Tour yet, but they are already gearing up for the second leg in 2012. The new arena dates run from January 27 in Tulsa, Okla. through June 29 in Indianapolis, Ind., and will feature Darius Rucker and Thompson Square sharing opening act duties.

Rascal Flatts may have just wrapped up their summertime Flatts Fest Tour, but they are already looking ahead to 2012 and have announced their next headlining trek. The Thaw Out Tour is set to kick off on January 12 in Charleston, W.V. at the Civic Center Coliseum and will wrap on February 18 when they stop in East Rutherford, N.J. after visiting 14 cities.
