I'll give you a few hints. It's a woman. Her husband was formerly on this list. He was a pretty snazzy dresser; especially during Mardi Gras.

Oh, yeah, she's the owner of the New Orleans Saints. She's Gayle Benson, the widow of Tom Benson. At 75-years-old, she's worth a whopping $4.7 Billion. On the Forbes Top 400, she comes in at number 224 and she's the only person from Louisiana wealthy enough to appear on the prestigious list.

Though Louisiana isn't represented very well, you don't have to travel far to find the home of the richest person in America.

That person is Elon Musk, who now resides in the Lonestar State. The 51-year-old Musk now calls Austin home and as of yesterday, October 18, 2022, his net worth, listed by Forbes "Real Time Net Worth", was $218 Billion.

Texas can lay claim to three of America's Top 20 richest people. The other two include Alice Walton of the Walmart empire who comes in at number 15.  Equally impressive is the 16th richest person in America, Michael Dell of Dell Technologies, who also resides in Austin, Texas.

Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, isn't too shabby either. Posting a 44th place finish on this year's list, Jones, 79-years-old, is worth $16 Billion.

All in all, Texas has an amazing total of 43 of the richest people in America.  But that's not even close to New York with 65 of America's richest and California who placed 80 names on the list.

Course, we're still proud of the one we've got!  Who Dat???
