Thankfully, the top fried chicken franchise in Louisiana is actually FROM Louisiana!

National Fried Chicken Day was July 6th, and in honor of that auspicious occasion, the folks at TopAgency.com took a look at each state to see which fried chicken franchise was the favorite.

As you probably already know, Louisiana is the birthplace of several successful chicken franchises. Off the top of my head, I came up with Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, Southern Classic Chicken, and Krispy Krunchy Chicken. Of course, you can't forget about other national chicken franchises like Chick-fil-A, Church's Chicken, Zaxby's, and KFC.

Who has Louisiana's favorite fried chicken?

According to research by TopAgency.com, the top fried chicken franchise in the country is Chick-fil-A, which took the top spot in 22 states. The next favorite was KFC, which was the most-liked in 12 states. So who is Louisiana's favorite fried chicken chain? It's Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, which was founded in Baton Rouge, LA. Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen came in second in Louisiana followed by 'God's Chicken,' Chick-fil-A, in third place.

When it comes to our Louisiana-based fried chicken franchises, Raising Cane's was number one in eight states while Popeyes was tops in one.

So, what do you think? Did they get it right? I'm not going to lie, I love me some Cane's sauce, but I'd also drive across town for Popeyes' biscuits and I LOVE their fries!
