Early this (Monday 9/17) morning, Shreveport police say a truck hit a utility pole and caused several high voltage power lines to fall across all four lanes of I-220.  Because of this I-220 is completely shut down from Jefferson Paige Road to Lakeshore Drive and nearly 3,000 Swepco customers are without power this morning.

Additionally, all street lights in the area are out.   Swepco crews are at the scene to working to clear the lanes and restore power at this time.

Police say Jefferson Paige Road is open, but drivers should try to avoid the area.
