Brandon Gonyea, the lead singer of Black Water Bride spent some time with us this morning discussing everything from the origin of the band's name (which he credits to our own Chris Evans) to their plans for opening Kiss Country Fest with Parmalee and Sara Evans on May 9.

From the very start of the interview you could tell Brandon was "one of us."  Bristol was astonished he was up so early, but he quickly interjected they were already up to do a little fishing on a private pond off Sligo Road, so being up this early was no big deal.

Describing Black Water Bride, he says they are "three metal heads with a redneck lead singer."  They love the Allman Brothers, Marshall Brothers, Skynyrd and 38 Special and "we still call it country but it's definitely got that Southern rock flair to it."  "We're a boot heel to the jaw."

Take a listen to the full interview with Brandon below.

He also gives us the background story of their single "Watchin' Me."  Take a listen to that single below.
