Battle of the Gumbo Gladiators is Saturday in Festival Plaza

Chicken, shrimp, crawfish, it could be anything swimming around in just the perfect roux and it would taste like Louisiana. We're talking Gumbo! And some of the best gumbo cooks in Northwest Louisiana will gather Saturday from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport to crown a new champion in the Battle of the Gumbo Gladiators!

While the chefs are duking it out around the gumbo pots, the rest of us will help raise much needed funds for the Volunteers for Youth Justice program as we devour the work of these champs!

Admission to the event is absolutely free and gumbo samples are only $1. If you'd like a full bowl of gumbo, it's only $4.

Make plans to come hungry, stay a while and eat a lot! And while you're chowing down they'll have great music and plenty to drink.
