You Never Know When A Paisley Might Walk In The Door

One thing I absolutely love about working in radio is meeting new artists! I had the pleasure of working at the old Cat Country before it evolved into what is now Kiss Country.  One day while I was on the air an up and coming new artist came into the station.

I was asked to interview him and play his new single and to quote my then time boss, “just get him out of the music director's hair!"  He was pawned off on me because the afternoon guy didn't want to deal with him either.

He was a very nice looking young guy and his single was pretty catchy. It was called “Who Needs Pictures". I spent nearly an hour talking with him on the radio and played his song not once but twice! LOL

So who was that guy? One of Nashville’s brightest stars today, Brad Paisley, who is now a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter who has ascended to the top of the country music charts.

Just last week I got chance to meet another new country artist. His name is Glenn Templeton and yep he is a cutie pie too! Here is a link to him singing one of his favorite old Conway Twitty songs, Goodbye Time in Nashville at the Loading Zone on Youtube:

We got a chance to talk and he gave me an autographed picture and a copy of his new single “I Could Be the One”. Best of luck to you Glen! Who knows he might just be another Paisley.
