Being a connoisseur of "all things hot", I've run across the occasional pepper that could make my nose run faster than a little boy who'd just thrown a baseball through his neighbor's window.  Well, researchers at the University of Cincinnati think that's a good thing and now believe they can use Hot Chili Peppers in a nasal spray.

Dr. Jonathan Bernstein says a nasal spray containing Capsicum annum, an ingredient in these peppers may help people clear up certain types of sinus inflammation. Bernstein and a few others recently conducted research on control groups and found that those who used a nasal spray with Capsicum reported a faster onset of action or relief, on average within a minute of using the spray.  You know, it's stuff like this that make me realize how dumb I really am.  I mean, I've accidentally touched my eyes after eating a pepper before and couldn't open it for a couple hours....so never in a million years would I have ever dreamed that it would be a "good" idea to spray 'em up my nose.  Guess that's why they make the big bucks.
