The answer seems to be: nothing just yet. The popular Mexican buffet shut down over six years ago, but the old building has been left unused. Pancho's opened up in Bossier city in the 80s and was a great place to fill up on some of your Mexican favorites at a great value. The old restaurant operated as an all-you-can-eat buffet with table service, and was famous for their sopapillas which they would keep piling on your table as quick as you could raise the little Mexican flag on the table.

A permit was issued for remodeling of the building — specifically to renovate the exterior — according to the Bossier City Permits and Inspections office. No tenant was provided for that permit, a representative in the office told BossierNow.

The Pancho’s Mexican Buffet closed in March of 2014 and the structure has been empty ever since. The building will be awaiting renovation and a new business to post-up, but it's very doubtful that we will be raising any flags in the Shreveport/Bossier area anytime in the near future.

Unofficial word on social media indicates that the space will soon be available for lease, but no business has yet committed to be there. Much less a table-service all-you-can-eat Mexican food buffet. As much as we would like the cheesy burritos and raise-the-flag sopapillas back, it doesn't look like that will happen. I am, however excited at the prospect of a new and amazing business using the old space for something good.

We will update this article if further information becomes available.
