What ever happened to God and Country?!?

Just this morning Gary and I were talking about Sunday being the 15th anniversary of September 11th. Do you remember the outpouring of love for God and country we experienced? It didn't matter where you were; Louisiana or Texas, Montana or California. We all realized exactly how precious our way of life was right here in the good old United States of America. Flags were waved and yellow ribbons were tied from coast to coast.

My how things have changed in the last fifteen years. Maybe as an Air Force brat living in a military town, I've been sheltered. I was shocked to hear of a professional football player sitting out the National Anthem in protest. I was even more shocked to hear that others were following suit and lauding him as a hero and likening that same player to Rosa Parks.

I grew up stopping wherever you were the moment you heard the Anthem to pay tribute. We recited the Pledge of Allegiance every morning in school. And now, at one of our own schools, at a Haughton High School football game to be exact, we've had people sitting out the National Anthem.

I promised not to share the name of the individual who took this photo. But I can tell you they were appalled, just as I am, because they attended the game with family members with MANY military decorations.

We're a military town and I support our military wholeheartedly and I can assure you that we here at Kiss Country will always stand for GOD and COUNTRY proudly! I firmly support freedom of speech, but I definitely don't feel it should be taken for granted. God Bless!
