Weekend Events in Shreveport-Bossier November 16

Rodeos, charity walks and holiday festivals, oh my! Whether you're enjoying the last weekend before Thanksgiving or thinking ahead to Christmas, there's plenty of things to do in Shreveport-Bossier. Check out some of the fun events going on.

Weekend Events Nov 16th-18th:

A Night with Shirley Q. Liquor and Betty Butterfield: 7:30 Friday night at the Karpeles Manuscript Museum at Centenary College. Tickets are limited but only $35. Get more info at 686-5888

National Black Rodeo Finals: 8 p.m. Saturday. Century Link Center, 2000 Century Link Center Drive, Bossier City. Parade begins at 1 p.m. Tickets are $19.75-$22.75. Information: go to www.centurylinkcenter.com or call 747-2501

Opening weekend of the Christmas Festival of Lights in Natchitoches with things going all day Saturday from 8 a.m. til 9 p.m. Including the Matthew Davidson band at 12:30 Saturday afternoon and Tab Benoit starting at 6 p.m. Saturday night and a big fireworks show on Cane River Lake.

The 2nd Annual Benton 5k Run/Walk for Downs begins Saturday morning at 8 at the Benton Sports Complex. This year it honors 6 year old McKenna Gates, a dancer at Vicki’s School of Dance with Downs Syndrome. Registration is only $15 and all proceeds go to the local Up With Downs Organization.
The Jambalaya Jubilee Fundraiser to raise funds for the Foundation for Kids with Rheumatoid Arthritis runs Saturday from 10am to 10pm at 5544 Greenwood Road next to Leather Shack. They’ll have bands, food and drink and prizes and all kinds of kid activities including space walk, face painting and loads of games. Admission is only $3 at the gate.

Haynesville hosts Oberlin at 7:30p
LSU hosts Ole Miss at 2:30 Saturday afternoon – Hear the game on AM 1130 The Tiger or watch it on CBS
Arkansas goes to Mississippi State Saturday. Kick off at 11:21am on the SEC Network.
