Vivian Man Shot And Killed After A Night Of Socializing
A Vivian man is dead, and another is in custody after a night of socializing goes badly. It all happened overnight at the Monterrey Hills Apart complex in Vivian.
According to Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator, the victim, 24-year-old James Carroll of Vivian was with a group of friends socializing at the apartments along with alleged shooter, 18-year-old James Taylor III, also of Vivian.
In their press release, the CPSO says about the two men:
After leaving the complex together, they returned a while later, followed by a disagreement between the two. Taylor is accused of seeking out Carroll at the Monterrey Hills complex, producing a pistol, and firing twice when he located him between the buildings. The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m.
Taylor fled the scene. Detectives later found his tan Crown Victoria abandoned at I-220 and I-20 in Shreveport and Taylor hiding in a south Shreveport apartment complex. He was taken into custody early Thursday morning and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for second-degree murder.
