Vickie Bickham Is Latest to Be Caught in the Act
That old pick-up line might not apply to many, but in Vickie Bickham's case, we can certainly see that it's a perfect fit.
The old line? "Did it hurt?" "Did what hurt?" "When you fell from Heaven?"
With a heart like hers, it's obvious that Vickie has not only been a blessing to her daughter, Ashley Obermeyer and her sister, but to all of us.
This world is certainly a better place because we are sharing it with Vickie!
And that's why she was an easy selection here at Christmastime to be this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.
Just read Vickie's nomination letter that we received from Ashley, and you'll understand.
I want to tell you about a person who is very important to me. This person is the most giving human being I personally know. She has worked with Willis Knighton for 40 years and has been with the cancer center since the day they have opened as an administrative clerk. She has built relationships with the patients that come in, sparking conversations, laughing/crying with them, and making them feel like a friend more than a patient. In her spare time, she helps to care for her mother who has progressing dementia. She also loves spoiling her 3 grandchildren and spending time with them. I am so lucky to call her Mom. Recently she was diagnosed with a rarer cancer of the appendix which unfortunately spread to her liver and bones. She is not working at the moment due to it, but receiving chemotherapy and radiation at the cancer center in which she has worked for the past few decades. Despite her struggles, she still helps her mom the best she can and has been in nothing but good spirits throughout, trusting in God. I am very lucky to have her and want her to know that we love her very much!
Vickie Bickham, because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner!
Take a listen to the phone call we made to Vickie to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
