These Are the 5 Worst Speed Traps in Louisiana
You can feel the general vibe in the air. Spring is just weeks away. And with that will be an overwhelming desire for lots of us to get in the car and go somewhere. Anywhere. Just go!
There will be baseball and softball tournaments for the kids. Band camps, cheer competitions and weekends off camping. And lots of those things will happen right here in the Bayou State.
With that thought in mind, it occurred to me that Louisiana has its fair share of speed traps. Places you really need to make sure that you're obeying all the traffic laws or you'll very quickly notice those flashing lights in your rear window.
The last time it happened to me was in 2011 in Ville Platte, Louisiana. Got a ticket for going 51 in a 45 mph speed zone. And I was literally only one hundred yards from the sign increasing the speed limit from 45 to 55 mph.
I figured for sure when we posed the question about the locations of Louisiana's biggest speed traps on our Facebook page and on the air, that Ville Platte would certainly be one of the top responses. It wasn't.

But these were the Top Five, so when you find yourself in these areas, pay attention to your speed and don't find yourself on the wrong side of the law.
