The National Weather Service has extended the current Tornado Watch until 3pm for the following areas:  Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, Webster, Lincoln and Union parishes.  This Includes the cities of, Bossier City, Farmerville, Homer, Minden, Ruston and Shreveport.

A social worker in a group home for the disabled almost lost his life trying to save residents when a tornado decimated much of Joplin, Missouri this spring. Now, his company’s insurance provider is denying him workman’s compensation.

It's not just the human spirit that can show amazing resiliency in times of crisis. A dog named Mason who was blown out of his home when a tornado tore through North Smithfield, Alabama on April 27 crawled back three weeks later. And we do mean crawled.

Sunday's tornado in Joplin, Missouri is now the deadliest in the U.S. since records of tornado fatalities began being kept more than 60 years ago, CNN reported.

The tornado that slammed Joplin, MO on May 22, like the others around the country recently, has resulted in stunning first-person video accounts. With the popularity of video capability on smartphones (not to mention digital cameras) we are now not only seeing the damage closer than ever, but we are also seeing what it's like to wait for the storm, then experience it.

I think with all the terrible news from the devastating storms that have hit the south, we could all use a bit of a laugh. Check out this guy who I am sure is just happy to be alive but I can't help but get tickled at the loss of his happy meal.
