State Fair

It's time for the State Fair of Louisiana!!!  With opening day set for this Thursday, October 24 and full run all the way to November 10, you and the family are going to have to take in at least one day of our annual fall tradition!

Frank Foster was a guest of mine recently on the Kiss Country morning show.  We talked about him growing up in North Louisiana and his long, hard days in the oilfield.  We visited about his live concerts and his growing number of truly passionate fans.

You won't have to look far for something to do this weekend here in Kiss Country!  For starters, it's OPENING WEEKEND of deer season here in Area 2.  That means that at 4am Saturday and Sunday, there will be more camouflage and four wheelers on the road than eighteen wheelers at a truck stop in a snow storm.  Let's be careful and don't forget to take a kid.

The State Fair of Louisiana opens tomorrow, October 25, and odds are you probably have some incredible memories of the Fair.  Mustard dripping off your elbow from the foot long corn dogs, fingers sticking together while you inhaled pounds of salt water taffy; that distinct "smell" of the live stock show, sitting with that somebody special, hoping you'd get stuck at the top of the Ferris
