4TH OF JULY

Wednesday is the 4th of July, the most American of holidays... and many of us will have the day off and some time to enjoy some the different events going on in Kiss Country. Here are some things going on in Kiss Country that you may want to check out...

2 years ago, unless you were a fan of Kiss Country's State Line Saturday Night, you'd probably never heard of Kip Moore.  Raised in Tifton, Georgia, he went to community college in Alabama and then moved to Hawaii and took up backpacking and surfing.  Today, he's celebrating his first Number One in the whole country!

Country music superstar Alan Jackson will help some deserving military families celebrate July 4th a little bit early this year. According to a post on Jackson’s website, the singer is slated to perform this coming Saturday (June 30) at Fort Sill, Okla. to kick off the military installation’s patriotic festivities.

July is National Hot Dog month, which makes sense since patriotic folks barbecue an estimated 150 million franks on July 4th alone. But a recent survey from organic meat producer Applegate suggests that the hot dog’s status as an American staple could be in jeopardy.

Steven and I are headed to the beach this year for our 4th of July. This is not a yearly trip for us, it is actually a first for both of us. It is guaranteed to be packed full of vacationing families. Being born and raised in the Southeast when I think summer vacation, I think beaches, lakes, rivers---odd that those places that first come to mind did not make the Orbitz top 10 list for 4th of July
