In my estimation our government has stepped well over the line again...and Ohio Social Workers have taken an 8 year old child from his family and placed him in foster care.  No reports of "abuse" or "neglect" or anything other than "his size".  Granted, this third grader has been deemed severely obese, weighing more than 200 pounds, and at risk for diseases like diabetes and hypertension, but even the Ohio Health Department estimates more than 12% of third-graders statewide are severely obese.  Is this a sign of things to come? Will Ohio Social Workers begin randomly removing all overweight children from their families....because "they" deem parents aren't doing enough to keep these kids' weight under control?  The removal of the Cleveland child is the first state officials can recall of a child being put in foster care for a strictly weight-related issue.  Love to know what you think of this one!
