Independence Stadium in Shreveport was the place to be Saturday night . More than 350 students showed up to participate in Sleepout 4 Independence a fundraiser to benefit the Providence House. This was the first year for the event, and it raised more than $100,000.

Walking through the card board structure was quite amazing. The local high school and college students were very creative when it came to their "homes."

As you’ll see in the pictures below, there was everything from a general store to a palace and even a Duck Dynasty-inspired shelter designed by engineering students from Louisiana Tech.

Local singers Dez Duron and Willie Jones served as MC’s for the event that went on until 7 a.m. Sunday morning.
