What Does Shreveport Need to Attract More Visitors?
What improvements could be made in the Shreveport Bossier area to bring in more visitors and even bring in more new residents?
You hear folks talk all the time about cleaning things up, curbing crime, fixing the infrastructure and much more. But are there some things we should begin to work on now to help our community grow and prosper?
The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau is working with local governments and several other groups to develop a 10-year Destination Master Plan. Part of this process will be a new brand for our area. Right now we are called "Louisiana's Other Side". What should northwest Louisiana be called?
How Can You Have Input on This Plan?
There is a survey online where you can give input about what steps we can take to improve our community. It will take you about 10 minutes to complete this survey. I did the survey and it's pretty quick. They want to know where you live and work. You will also be asked about things that come to mind when you think about Shreveport and Bossier. You will find some questions about what our community means to you and how you would describe it.
Stacy Brown, President of the SBCTB says “Shreveport-Bossier City belongs to us all, and it is critically important to hear as many voices as possible as we set long-term goals for our cities and develop a new brand for our area.”
What Is the Purpose of This Master Plan?
The SBCTB says the "primary goal of the Destination Master Plan is to set goals and create initiatives over the next 10 years to attract more investment into the community and increase overall visitor spending here." The organizers also hope this project will bring in a wider variety of jobs which could ultimately increase the local tax base.
The deadline to take the survey is Monday, so you need to jump on it right away to be included.
