The man accused of stabbing two hospital workers at Ochsner LSU Health on Monday afternoon will face murder charges in New Orleans. NOPD has a warrant for the arrest of 27-year-old Zaokoye Chatman of Shreveport. He is wanted for the Sunday murder of a man outside a gas station in the 9th Ward.

An NOPD spokesman says Chatman faces a 2nd-degree murder charge for the killing of 59-year-old Donald Cargo. Chatman has reportedly confessed to the New Orleans killing. The two men got into an argument near the gas pump when Chatman allegedly pulled a machete out of his pants leg and attacked the victim.

Family members and Shreveport police believe Chatman may have mental health issues. One of the two victims at the local hospital is his own mother.

He faces aggravated second-degree battery and attempted murder charges in Caddo Parish. He is currently being held in Caddo Correctional Center on a $300,000 bond but he is expected to be turned over to NOPD on the murder warrant they now have.
