Shreveport Grocery Store Adds Innovative New Way to Pay
Left the house without your purse or wallet but still need to run by the grocery store? That's not a problem anymore if you have an Amazon One account. Now you can pay at Whole Foods Market in Shreveport with the palm of your hand.... literally.
Whole Foods Markets is getting ready to launch Amazon's latest technology making it even easier to get your money, I mean easier to pay, with their Amazon One service. According to Amazon's website:
One scan does it all.
Amazon One simplifies everyday interactions. It's a free, contactless service that lets you use your palm to pay, enter, or identify yourself.
A quick and easy way to make a payment, enter a venue, or identify yourself.
Sign up once, then use wherever Amazon One is available.
You’re in control - you choose when and where you use your palm.
The service uses biometric technology to read your palm print, which is just as unique to each person as a fingerprint. And in this post-Covid world, this feature is truly contactless. The user can hold their hand a few inches above the scanner without having to place their palm directly onto the reader, much like scanning groceries.
Currently, Amazon has the technology available in over 200 Whole Foods Markets in the US, including Louisiana.
- New Mexico
- New York
Additional locations and states are slated to receive the tech option in the coming months, according to the company.
