A Woman's Biggest Fear Became Reality Over the Weekend When Her Dog Disappeared.

DeAnna Parker Robinson took to her Facebook to share an amazing story of Shreveport residents coming together to help rescue a Yorkie that fell into a sewer drain.

DeAnna Was Shocked and Couldn't React When She Realized Her Tiny Dog Rolled Into a Sewer Drain.

That is when an angel among us showed up and grabbed her phone and called 911 for her. John Green was a dispatcher for SFD and knew time was of the essence and he took over. It wasn't long that Firefighter D. Matteson, Fire Engineer Brent Martwick, Captain Curtis Metts, and Battalion Chief Nick Spann showed up.

This Fire Crew Had Several Obstacles in Their Way.

What seemed like an impossible rescue to us was an epic game of Tetris for this crew. They all worked together and beat the clock. There was a storm on the way, and the storm could have pushed this tiny dog even further down. You can read the epic rescue story below. A huge thank you to Shreveport Fire Engine Crew #3.

"This morning I took Whitney and my dogs out for a fun day off Youree Dr to get ice cream and shop. Well this is what happened. Fun day turned into a nightmare after parking and letting my tiny Yorkie out in the grass before we went in, Londyn jumped off the curb and she rolled into the sewer drain.. I tried to grab her but it happened so fast, everything after this point is in slow motion as it was extremely shocking to see your tiny baby just disappear so quickly… She was not barking or responding to my voice, I tried to see down into the sewer but it was too deep and dark, there was not one soul walking through that parking lot and I just froze My girlfriend that I was talking to at that time, called me back telling me to call 911 but I had shut down, .. I looked up and this man was walking towards me seeing that I was horribly shaken. I told him my puppy fell into that sewer drain and he calmly took my phone and called 911.. The operator asked what was wrong and this sweet man said “ Hey this is John Green, there is a lady here and her puppy has fallen into the sewer and we need help” The operator said “ Hey John this is so and so and I’ll send help.. John was a former dispatcher for the SFD who just happened to drive up and see me… What were the chances of that The Fire Dept arrived quickly, Whitney and BJ are in the SUV and Whit is extremely upset not understanding what just happened and BJ my big boy knew something was very wrong so he just WATCHED…The Firemen popped the first sewer and I just had to walk away knowing that she hadn’t barked and was probably seriously injured or deceased but she was not there they popped the second sewer and she wasn’t there.. They crossed over behind me and popped the 3rd, she wasn’t there and then the 4th and Londyn was not there At this point you couldn’t calm me down because that meant she went deeper into the hole… They had me turn my car off so they could listen for her.. I called out to her and very faintly you could hear Londyn’s tiny little bark. I honestly believe we were all a little emotional knowing Londyn was alive now they had to try and get her out before the storm rolled in because that would have washed her further down. It was a lot of work, lots of phone calls, they ran a long flashlight down the hole hoping to see her, they were calling trying to find the smallest fireman to crawl into that hole, I truly was in shock, felt so helpless, no one ever thinks that this will happen to them, this is things you hear about but you never think you will experience it.. The men were having to work so many different angles to try and reach her if that was even going to be possible.. It was time consuming and I told them I understood what they were doing, she’s a dog, not a human so she’s not a priority, if a call came in, they would have to leave and take that call. It was devastating and heartbreaking it made me so sick to my stomach, but I understood and I knew it had to be that way… There was still no guarantee they could reach her, but they talked to me about possibly bringing machinery in to dig another hole to get to her, that would take hours and I just nodded, completely overwhelmed but I trusted these men knowing they weren’t giving up on her yet Stacie Conklin McKeever, Donna Singleton and Philip Singleton were on their way to me from North Bossier, I just kept talking to Londyn, hoping she could hear me letting her know I was there and would not leave her After some time they got a big ladder and ran it down the 4th hole, they put the long flashlight in and Captain Metts said “ I can see her bow but she can’t jump to me” Londyn started barking like crazy, she knew they were there to help her, he worked and worked till he finally got her…By the grace of God, Londyn was not broken or scratched!! She was soaking wet, smelled horrible and shaking uncontrollably. Captain Metts holding that puppy in his arms was such a unbelievable sight Very happy and emotional for everyone that it was the outcome we were all hoping and praying for Shreveport Fire Dept Engine# 3… I am forever grateful, deeply humbled and your biggest fan. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving my little girl.. So many things could have happened, gone wrong, but God showed up and he STAYED"
