Two Major Ramp Closures Set for Shreveport and Bossier City Today
While a recent research piece indicated that Louisiana's roads are among the worst in the country, we are constantly reminded that the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is routinely working to improve that status.

Another instance of that work will actually take place today as the DOTD has announced a pair of ramp closures that will take place today, Tuesday, March 31, on separate ramps in both Shreveport and Bossier City.
The I-49 Southbound Ramp to I-220 Eastbound Ramp Will Close Beginning at 9:00
Motorists are advised that beginning this morning at 9:00 am, the flyover ramp from I-49 southbound to I-220 eastbound (Exit 210A) in Shreveport will be closed while crews apply the anti-icing material Pavix to the ramp.
This ramp closure is anticipated to last approximately two to three hours.
Around Noon, Expect The I-20 Eastbound to I-220 Westbound Ramp To Close
Once completed, those crews will address the I-20 eastbound ramp to I-220 westbound (Exit 26 Racetrack) in Bossier City. That ramp will be closed for approximately three to fours, and will reopened no later than 3:00 pm.
Pavix is a material that is sprayed onto the concrete to seal the roadway and help prevent ice from forming on the bridge surface during winter weather events. Once applied, the material lasts for several years. Pavix also provides resistance against the freeze/thaw cycle that can damage concrete roadways over time.
DOTD advises these are total ramp closures at the specified locations. Motorists should plan to utilize alternate routes during these time frames. And with all projects of this kind, the work will be done "Weather Permitting", so any inclement weather could delay, extend or alter in other ways, the scheduled work day/hours.
