Can’t Live Without It: The Beloved Foods of Shreveport & Bossier
Here in the Shreveport-Bossier area we love Jesus, LSU football, our kids and food!

And why wouldn't we love our food? People from all over the world come here for the chance to sample what we have nearly every day on our dinner plates.
We only need to look at our waistlines to see evidence of how much we love to eat. And apparently the whole world knows it.
It was about this time last year that the website wallethub.com determined that Shreveport is the third fattest city in the United States.
But I want you to consider that food is probably the most important aspect of everyone's life, given that the number one text message that people send in America deals with what people are going to eat.
The New York Post released the findings of a study done by One Poll for Blue Diamond Almonds a few years ago and we learned just how much time we think of food each day:
.....Americans think about food an average of four times a day and spend 40 minutes per day purely thinking about food, according to the study.
That adds up to more than 240 hours per year or the equivalent of over 10 solid 24-hour days.
This easily demonstrates that food is a big deal all across this great nation. But here in Shreveport-Bossier, it could very well be the most important thing we consider on a daily basis.
So the question occurred to me, "What are the foods that Shreveport-Bossier people say they can't live without?"
After visiting with a good number of local residents, I'm thinking we've put together a winning list!
Just take a look and see if you agree that you just couldn't make it without these incredible foods.
