The 13 Delicious Reasons Louisiana is the 4th Most Obese State
Not sure you caught it when the article first came out, but if these numbers are true, Louisiana needs a jog and a salad.

In the article from US News & World Report, our beloved Bayou State was declared the fourth most obese state in the whole country. If these numbers are correct, we might have to rename ourselves the "Big Belly State."
Only West Virginia, Arkansas and Mississippi were declared to have higher percentage rates of obesity than Louisiana's whopping 39.9 percent.
On the other end of the scale, Colorado's 24.6 percent was the nation's lowest barely beating out Hawaii's 26.8 percent.
According to the CDC, Centers for Disease Control, approximately two of every five Americans are obese, meaning they have a body mass index of 30 or above. And it would appear, a lot of those Americans are here in Louisiana.
Numbers like this are what have spawned America's GLP-1 craze with massive amounts of people taking routine injections of Ozempic and Wegovy to aid in their weight loss program.

I'm not saying that we don't have a great number of gym rats to help balance our grading curve, but with the food we have here, I'm just amazed that we aren't some of the biggest people on the planet.
