Shreveport Police Make Arrest in City’s Latest Homicide

On May 30th, 2023, around 11:15 a.m. Shreveport Police Patrol Officers responded to a call of shots fired at Monkhouse Drive and Interstate Drive. Upon the arrival of patrol officers, the victim was located suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, lying in front of a gas station. The Shreveport Fire Department was notified and transported the victim to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The responding officers also detained the male that reportedly fired the shots. During the ensuing investigation, Detectives with the Shreveport Violent Crimes Unit collected evidence and determined that LilAnthony Johnson (2-18-03) reportedly shot his brother multiple times. Johnson was arrested and charged with one count of Second-Degree Murder and one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Investigation into this case is ongoing. We are required by law to state that all persons are innocent until proven guilty.
