When the rumors first started swirling about 50 Cent making massive moves in Shreveport, the energy in the city was electric. We saw businesses popping up left and right, all hoping to catch a ride on the G-Unit wave.

One of the most vocal supporters of the move was Rouls Deli, a spot that made it very loud and clear that they were here for 50 and here for the 318.

But as the saying goes, some flames burn bright but don’t burn long.

When Rouls first opened its doors in January of 2025, it was an instant hit. I remember the lines, people were literally wrapped around the building just to get a taste of those famous deli eats. It felt like we had a new staple in our culinary scene. However, after that initial "year of newness" wore off, things seemingly took a turn for the worse.

Earlier today, the store took to social media to drop the bombshell on their local fans. In a candid post, the owners announced they have officially closed their Shreveport location for good and now have "0% affiliation" with the site.

The team cited operational struggles as the primary reason for the exit, stating that the physical space simply wasn’t big enough to bring their full vision to life. "We always want to give you the best experience possible, and we couldn’t do that here the way we know you deserve," the post read.

While it truly hurts to see a business leave the city, especially one that leaned so heavily into the Shreveport revitalization, this serves as a reminder of how tough the restaurant game can be. If you’re still craving that Rouls flavor, you’ll have to make the trip down I-49. Their locations in Baton Rouge and Gonzales remain open and ready to serve, but for now, the deli lights have gone dark in Shreveport.
