Often when we hear the term "dig deep" it's usually about the efforts of an athlete. How they have to "dig deep" to grab something from their inner self that most will never access.

This time around, Siara Scott told us the story of someone "digging deep" that had nothing to do with athletics, but everything to do with human kindness and a genuine love for others.

That someone is her Mom, Rose Vaughn. Battling through her own troubles, Rose has "dug deep" and has always managed to be there whenever she might be needed.

And that's exactly why Rose has been selected as this week's recipient of the Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

Siara's nomination letter explains it all.

Rose is my mom. And I know what your thinking “everyone thinks their mom is great what makes your mom different?” Well my mom has been a nurse for over 20 years and even after long days of helping people she will still give the shirt off her back for those in need. 18 years ago we were told that she wouldn’t live through the night. She was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. But even though Doctors said it was very unlikely, God had different plans and she has been cancer free since. She uses the gift of life that God gave her to inspire and love on others. Anyone who knows her will quickly tell you all you have to do is call and she is right there helping in any way she can. She always has a smile and a warm hug when you need it.

Rose Vaughn, because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Rose to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
