Portion Of Bert Kouns To Be Closed On September 7
Some would ask, why is there so much roadwork going on now in the Shreveport/Bossier/Minden area?
The simple answer is that our roads have gotten so bad, it's taking all this work to try and get some things back in shape.
If you didn't realize just how bad they are, take a look at the article "S'port/Bossier Says These 20 Potholes Need Attention Now." It's sad how hard it was to narrow the list to 20.
So, drivers in the area need to keep reminding themselves that in order for roads to be fixed, some must be closed to allow for those repairs.
And now we have received word from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advising motorists that on Saturday, September 7, beginning at 6:00 am, the LA 526 (Bert Kouns Industrial Loop) overpass over I-20 in Shreveport will be closed for repairs.
This bridge is located approximately two miles west of the Pines Road interchange with I-20.
This bridge closure is anticipated to last one day, and is necessary to allow for repairs to the joint on this structure.
Of course, this work will be performed weather permitting, so inclement weather could postpone, extend or alter the day(s) or hours for the repairs.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
