People Will Sue Over Anything

I'm convinced that people are so "sue happy" that they'll look for the bucks in nearly everything.  Check out this story about a lady in New Jersey.  She says a New York City television station caused her thousands of dollars in emotional damage when it broadcast the wrong lottery numbers. In a lawsuit against WABC-TV and its parent companies, American Broadcasting Co. and Walt Disney, Rakel Daniele said she believed she was $250,000 richer and was “severely damaged” upon learning that was not true. In legal papers, Daniele said WABC compounded the wrong by broadcasting the same incorrect numbers twice. In a complaint seeking $75,000, Daniele’s lawyer, Evan Baker, said WABC’s conduct was “beyond all possible bounds of decency, and were atrocious, and utterly intolerable in a civilized community.”
