The 2015 Natchitoches/NSU Folk Festival is scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, July 17 and 18 in Prather Coliseum on the campus of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches.

This year's festival, themed, “Backroads and Bayous: Celebrating Louisiana’s Rural Folklife,” celebrates Louisiana culture through food, crafts, music and dance.

The traditional musical genres that will be performed comprise a diverse landscape with musicians from throughout the state, including some of your favorite Cajun and zydeco performers.

The festival will also include the folk crafts people and traditional foods the Festival is renowned for, crafts include: folk art paintings, handmade, wooden duck/turkey/squirrel calls, tatting, and so much more. The festival will also host the annual Louisiana State Fiddle Championship.
