She's baaaaaaaccccccccck! Miranda Lambert is back on the road after being briefly down and out due to an upper respiratory infection. And typical of her style, she not only showed up, she kicked hiney and took names!

Miranda Lambert,reigning ACM and CMA Female Vocalist of the year,  wowed a Texas size, sellout crowd of 73,811 at the Houston Rodeo March 16th. Miranda rocked her show to a RECORD number of attendees! The show's Vice President remarks on the recent concert in a press release from Miranda's label, Sony Music:

“Wow, what a night,” exclaimed Leroy Shafer, the Show’s Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “Our rodeo/concert presentation with Miranda Lambert produced the third largest crowd in the 79 year history of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo – and the largest weeknight attendance ever. Spring break, a rodeo semi-finals, great weather and the talented and multi-award winning Miranda Lambert blended into the perfect storm that produced thousands of fans clamoring for tickets.  This was a homerun for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and a homerun for Miranda Lambert.

Lambert recalls her early days performing in her home state of Texas. (There were only 73,304 more people at this show than her show at Firehouse Saloon in Houston)

“It's good to be back home in Texas,” gushed Lambert, who started playing bars at 17 years old including Houston’s own Firehouse Saloon. “I think there were about seven people there at that first concert,” she joked.
