It's because of your donations that Corbin is learning to walk on his own.

Corbin Colvin is five years old and the life of any room. He wins you over immediately with his sweet smile and then before you know it, the two of you are best friends. It's hard to keep up with him on those tripod canes.

He doesn't let his cerebral palsy hold him back.

After being born three months premature, Corbin was transported from Minden and spent many more months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at CHRISTUS Health Shreveport-Bossier. This was his first experience with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. It seemed like an eternity before he was able to go home.

However, he began missing some milestones like sitting and crawling.

Shortly after, Corbin was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. This is when he began physical therapy. Since his initial diagnosis, Corbin has shown incredibly improvement in the years he has been at Kids Clinic at CHRISTUS Health Shreveport-Bossier, another program (out of 17 programs at CHRISTUS) funded by Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

He attends therapy multiple times a week.

Corbin has progressed from a gait trainer to tripod canes which he is using now. The goal is independent walking. After tripod canes Corbin will tackle crutches and eventually walking independently. This is because of therapy he receives at Kids Clinic and the equipment made available to him through donations to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

And of course, his joyful spirit.

Corbin has also been chosen as the Louisiana Champion. At age five, he will represent the entire state of Louisiana as an ambassador for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. He will also get to go to Washington D.C. before attending the annual Children's Miracle Network Hospital conference, Momentum, in Orlando next February.

This includes a trip to Disney World and trust me, it will be hard to keep up with him.

When you make a donation to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, you make a donation to help kids like Corbin. The beautiful thing is that every dollar donated in Shreveport-Bossier stays in Shreveport-Bossier, which means that you are donating to help Corbin and other kids in our area.

And every dollar makes a difference.
