An internal audit is being done to find out how a city car was assigned to the Mayor's office and he also got paid a car allowance for 2019.
KEEL News asked some questions about this story and here's what we received.
1. Who used this car during 2019? Fleet Services had this car assigned to the “Mayor-Executive Offices Department” which includes the Mayor and Executive staff.  Members of the executive staff routinely used this car throughout the year to conduct city business.
2. Do those employees get city cars? No, those city employees (exec staff) are not individually assigned city vehicles.
3. On the list of car assignments, who was this car assigned to? Fleet Services had the car (unit 8000) assigned to the “Mayor Executive Offices,” which once again, means that it was assigned to the Mayor and staff.
4. Why wasn't the Mayor paid monthly? Actually, the request was made but there was a miscommunication with the Finance Department.
