LADOTD explains that this full interstate closure is scheduled to take place from approximately 6:00 pm to 7:00 am, and is necessary to allow the contractor for the ongoing LA 531 overpass replacement project to place the concrete in the deck of the new bridge that is currently under construction.

During the closure, traffic will be diverted onto the off-ramps at LA 531, and back onto I-20 via the on-ramps.

The entire project is anticipated to be complete in Summer 2025, and also includes the construction of two roundabouts at the ramps for improved traffic flow and safety.

Of course, the work will be performed "Weather Permitting", so inclement weather could postpone, extend or alter the day/hours the work is scheduled to be performed.
