My heart breaks for my fiancé's family. The matriarch of the family is in a beautiful assisted living care facility. They have not seen their sweet Nan since mid-March. Although the family has been Facetiming her religiously, I understand there is a void that a phone can't fill.

Families all over the U.S. understand that social distancing is extremely important to prevent scary outbreaks in senior communities. The good news is that Lowe’s is stepping up and has promised to send flowers to seniors in nursing homes to make up for the social distancing.

According to the Press Release, Lowe's will team up with their network of small nurseries and growers. Together, they will donate $1 million worth of flower baskets. Over 500 senior living facilities will receive these beautiful baskets that are sure to spark joy. The 500 senior living facilities that will receive the flowers are located in ten markets that were substantially impacted by COVID-19.

Flower basket deliveries have already started. The flower baskets are individually packaged and each basket contains a note of love and appreciation from the Lowe's community.

If you are lucky enough to have your mother or grandma nearby don't forget to shower them with love. There are so many local stores that are showcasing their wonderful Mother's Day gifts. If you don't know what to gift them, just follow Lowe's lead and gift them with a wonderful flower basket.

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms out there.
