Lainey Wilson Has Louisiana Highway Renamed In Her Honor
Seven times Lainey Wilson auditioned for the television show "The Voice" and seven times she fell short of the mark.
Little did those judges from The Voice know that they were dealing with THE Lainey Wilson, whose persistence is only second to her powerful voice and ability to captivate and entertain audiences of all ages.
Her popularity has certainly earned Lainey Wilson countless accolades in the country music industry including Entertainer of the Year by both the CMA Awards and the ACM Awards.
Both organizations have also named her Female Artist of the Year and her music has been celebrated in the likes of a CMA "Album of the Year" award for "Bell Bottom Country" in 2023.
She will even co-host this year's CMA Awards, along with Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning, which will be broadcast live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, this Wednesday, November 20 on ABC TV.
Of course, none will forget her appearances on "Yellowstone", one of the most watched television shows of all time, cementing the fact that Lainey Wilson is truly a national superstar!
Wilson just played two sold-out performances at the Monroe Civic Center this past Friday and Saturday, November 15 and 16, but she managed to spend a little time on Saturday in her hometown, Baskin, Louisiana, with Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser and Louisiana DOTD Secretary, Joe Donahue, as they recognized her by renaming a section of LA 15 in her honor.
That section of LA 15, which extends from LA 577 to the Franklin Parish line at Big Creek, is now officially named Lainey Wilson Highway.
Along with hosts of other state and local officials, Wilson looked on as the new "Lainey Wilson Highway" sign was unveiled and Saturday was also proclaimed "Lainey Wilson Day" throughout the Village of Baskin.
