While the deadline to purchase tickets for the Grand Prize drawing for a $60,000 2026 Chevy Silverado pick up truck doesn't arrive until November 17, 2026 at 11:59 pm, those purchasing the $30 raffle tickets before July 31 are eligible for a number of Early Bird drawings with an impressive list of prizes including:

  • Louisiana Outdoors Shopping Packages
  • The Antler Shed Deer Blinds Package
  • Honda 420 FM1 4x4 Package
  • Gator-Tail Boat Package

There are individual deadlines for each of the Early Bird Drawings, but an entry prior to July 31, 2026, makes purchasers eligible for all the Early Bird prizes as well as the Grand Prize drawing for the 2026 Chevy Silverado pickup truck.

To purchase the $30 raffle tickets, just go to the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation website HERE.

Proceeds generated by the sale of these raffle tickets fund a considerable amount of LAWFF's public outreach efforts.

The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation’s mission is to enhance and encourage public enjoyment and use of the wildlife and fisheries resources in this state. With this mission, they promote, develop, and expand the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) in youth recruitment, environmental education and training, and habitat conservation.

Upon its creation in December 1995, it was envisioned as a Foundation that would promote the welfare of LDWF, reflecting the belief that there was more to accomplish than governmental resources could cover. The foundation supports department education and research programs with additional resources developed through its own facilities.

Pets That Are Surprisingly Legal to Own in Louisiana

When people think about getting a pet, dogs, cats, birds, or fish are likely the first animals that come to mind. However, the realm of possibility when it comes to animals you can legally have as pets in Louisiana is quite surprising.

The gang over at a-z-animals.com has compiled a list of pets that are actually legal to own in Louisiana, but we're going to hit a few highlights.

Keep in mind that pet ownership laws vary from city to city and parish to parish, so please check local laws before taking in any of these animals. Remember, you’ll be taking on responsibility for the wellbeing of a living, feeling creature.
