Punch to the Face: Louisiana Ranks Second-Worst State for Jobs in U.S.
Another national research piece and once again, Louisiana is punched in the face.

Wallethub.com just released their findings in the study "Best and Worst States For Jobs" and thankfully, Louisiana wasn't in last place. That honor belongs to West Virginia.
However, the Bayou State was second to worst and for those seeking good jobs in the area, that's pretty disheartening.
According to their findings, Wallethub lists Massachusetts as the overall best state for a job. Next is Connecticut and Minnesota follows in third.
On their website, Wallethub explained that the rationale behind the research. "To determine the most attractive states for employment, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 34 key indicators of job-market strength and economic health. Our data set ranges from employment growth to the median annual income to the average commute time."
Using those "relative metrics" and a 100-point scale, each state's attraction to potential employees was rated and Louisiana is again among the lowest performers.

That has a powerful sting to it, because as Wallethub analyst Chip Lupo puts it, "“Living in one of the best states for jobs can provide stable conditions for the long-term, helping you ride out the fluctuations that the economy will experience in the future. The best states for jobs make it easier for residents to find and retain jobs, and employers in these states also offer very competitive compensation and benefits. In addition, the top states are great places for people looking to raise a family, ranking among the best states for working parents.”
Here's a look at the Best Five and Bottom Five from Wallethub's findings:
