As of late Friday, 108 people have been tested. But that will change over the next few days as the nation begins a more aggressive testing protocol.

St. John Parish President Hotard says

This is a rapidly evolving situation. We understand the the presumptive positive case may concern our community, but at this time there is no evidence of a large community spread.

Across the state, 26 of the cases are in Orleans Parish, 3 in Jefferson Parish, 2 in St. Tammany and one each in Caddo, Lafourche, St. Bernard, St. Charles, Terrebonne and now St. John.

Governor Edwards says

We expect to see more presumptive positives in the coming days and weeks and I am asking all Louisianans to remain vigilant as we work to contain the spread of this and other illnesses.

Louisiana got its first positive report on Monday and that number has been growing steadily all week. All of the positive results have been sent to the CDC for confirmation of COVID-19.
