The COVID-19 vaccine is now available to young children aged 5-11. LSU Health will be offering the shots starting Monday (11/8/21). The shots will be made available at the Linwood Avenue site of the old Chevy Land from 10am to 6pm.

The vaccine was approved last week, and some pediatricians have already begun giving the vaccines to their patients. KEEL spoke with Dr. John Vanchiere who says some children will have reactions to the Pfizer child's vaccine, but most reactions and side effects have been minimal. Dr. Vanchiere also said that in the clinical trial of the vaccine, there were only 3 breakthrough COVID-19 cases that required medical attention.

It's also been reported to us by Dr. Vanchiere that kids will also be eligible for the Louisiana's Shot For 100 vaccine incentive program. The children will be put in the running for a chance to win big money after receiving their vaccine.

The easiest way to get your kids their jabs as soon as possible is by registering online prior to going to the vaccine site. The registration form can be found HERE.
